Except in the case of public figures who are the subjects of satire, the names of entities and persons referred to in SP articles are completely fictitious, and any resemblance to real entities or persons, either living or dead, is purely coincidental.

The quotations and opinions attributed to public figures in SP articles have been invented for strictly satiric purposes, and do not necessarily reflect the thoughts, opinions, or beliefs of the persons or entities to whom they are attributed.

The content of the articles on this website may offend some.

Those most likely to be offended include politicians, celebrities, and those who expect satiric writing to adhere to the rules of political correctness.

Coming Soon to CBC: Bertuzzi's Inquest

TORONTO (SP) — The producers of American legal dramas such as Law & Order and CSI have enjoyed incredible success regurgitating proven formulas into an endless series of spinoffs, including Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, CSI: Miami, and coming this Fall, CSI: New York. CBC and the producers of Da Vinci's Inquest hope to continue this trend with their newest mid-season replacement, Bertuzzi's Inquest.

Shot entirely on location in Vancouver, the show will follow the exploits of an elite group of detectives who investigate hockey-related crimes, including assault causing bodily harm, aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, and careless use of the stick. The show stars Sonya Smits and Eric Peterson as the lead investigators, Saul Rubinek as NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman and the accused/defendants, Todd Bertuzzi and Marty McSorley, as themselves.

In related news, NBC has just announced the newest addition to its Fall schedule, Law & Order: Penalty Killing Unit.
